Welcome to A Brief Review: A Connecticut Appellate Law Blog. I am excited to launch this new resource dedicated to sharing insights, updates, and reflections on Connecticut’s appellate system.
The appellate process can feel like uncharted territory for trial attorneys and their clients. This blog aims to shed light on that process and offers:
- Insights into the appellate process: From how to file an appeal to how to prepare for oral argument, I will explore key topics to make the appellate process a little easier to navigate.
- Brief reviews of recent decisions: Stay informed with summaries and analyses of a selection of opinions issued by the Connecticut Supreme and Appellate Courts.
- Updates on the Connecticut appellate system: From rule changes to procedural developments, I will provide timely information to help trial attorneys stay informed.
I created A Brief Review with four main goals in mind:
- To help busy trial attorneys stay updated on appellate developments that impact their practice.
- To contribute meaningfully to the Connecticut appellate bar.
- To provide clear, practical, and accessible information to potential appellate litigants navigating the process.
- To offer civics education on the appellate process to the public.
Whether you are a trial litigator, fellow appellate attorney, client preparing for an appeal, or just curious about the appellate process, I hope that you find this appellate law blog to be a valuable resource.
Thank you for reading, and I look forward to sharing more with you soon! If you have topics you would like to see covered or questions about appellate practice, don’t hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
Megan Wade
